We are delighted to welcome you to the
first edition of The Wealth Report in this new decade.
The next ten years have been dubbed by some the new “roaring twenties” – and we are optimistic that they will live up to the name.
One of the most exciting movements is the growing focus on well-being we see among Douglas Elliman clients. As high- lighted in our unique annual Attitudes Survey (results on page 99) not only are people devoting more time to their own physical and emotional “wellness,” but a focus on environmental health and global communities is on the rise.
This presents many opportunities for readers of The Wealth Report, whether it is the investment potential of the glob- al demographic trend towards longer, healthier lives – explored in detail in our “Big interview” on page 10 – or the abil- ity of forward thinking property inves- tors and landlords to benefit from the demand for healthy workspaces, as dis- cussed on page 76.
Indeed, as the inaugural results of our proprietary wealth sizing model, unveiled on page 18, reveal, wealth continues to be created around the world, especially in Asia’s economic hubs, and this growth in private capital is noticeably impacting the global real estate market. With rising affluence, “giving back” is increasingly important to ultra-high net worth indi- viduals, and on page 86 we profile three fascinating philanthropists whose work benefits a diverse range of causes.
